Another Kenyan Officer Killed in Haiti as Mission Faces Growing Danger The streets of Haiti have claimed yet another Kenyan life. Benedict Kabiru, a dedicated police officer deployed as part of the Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission, was shot and killed in an ambush during an anti-gang operation in Savien on Monday, March 24, 2025. His body remains in the hands of the very gangs he was sent to help contain, and Kenyan authorities are working urgently to recover it. Kabiru’s death is a painful reminder of the mounting risks Kenyan officers are facing in Haiti. Just a month ago, Police Constable Samuel Tompoi Kaetuai met the same fate in the Artibonite region.
