The event, held earlier today, drew thousands of worshippers and was closely monitored by a strong security presence.

Eastleigh, known for its large Somali and Muslim population, hosts one of Nairobi’s most significant Eid celebrations. The heavy security deployment reflected ongoing efforts to safeguard large public gatherings, given past security concerns in the area.
Photos shared from the event showed Inspector General Kirocho and other officials engaging with community members, reinforcing a spirit of unity between law enforcement and residents. Their presence was widely appreciated as a gesture of solidarity and commitment to public safety.
While the National Police Service has yet to issue an official statement, the active involvement of top security officials has been seen as a positive step in strengthening trust between law enforcement and the community.
As Eid-ul-Fitr festivities continue in Eastleigh, families are expected to gather for feasts and acts of charity, embracing the spirit of joy, reflection, and togetherness that defines the occasion.
