SOMALIA PREDICTED TO COLLIDE WITH INDIA , FORMING THE " Somalaya" MOUNTAINS

SOMALIA PREDICTED TO COLLIDE WITH INDIA , FORMING THE " Somalaya" MOUNTAINS Somalia and Madagascar are predicted to drift away from Africa due to the tectonic plate movement along the East African Rift valley. In a 2021 research report, Professor Douwe van Hinsbergen of Ultrecht University claims that over the next 200 million years, these landmasses are forecast to collide with the Indian Plate resulting in the formation of what he termed as " Somalaya Mountains"  However expert critics argue that projecting plate tectonics 200 million years is nothing but speculative just like forecasting the weather in a century to come.  But from geological standpoint, if the Earth's past supercontinents like Pangea and Gondwana are anything to believe then this idea of the formation of " Somalaya" isn't just a mere speculative but inevitable.  While many maybe uncertain about the absolute possibility of this scenario, one thing that's certain is that ...

Drama Unfolds as South Korea's President Faces Rebellion Charges The political heat in South Korea turned in to a dramatic standoff on Friday, as investigators tried to arrest impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol. For nearly six hours, Yoon’s official residence became the center of attention, with security forces blocking the anti-corruption agency's team from entering. This standoff wasn’t just about an arrest—it’s the latest twist in a deeply divided South Korea. Yoon is accused of rebellion after declaring martial law in December 2024, a move that saw soldiers surround the National Assembly. Many say this was his desperate attempt to cling to power, but it only led to his impeachment by lawmakers a few days later. The images of investigators standing outside his residence, unable to proceed, have sparked mixed reactions. Some see Yoon as a leader standing his ground, while others call him a symbol of the country's political crisis. Now, all eyes are on the Constitutional ...

THE UNENDING NIGHTMARE OF SOMALI MOTHERS.

Somali Mothers’ Cries for Their Lost Children in the hands of Human Traffickers. Back in Mandera, where I grew up 20 years ago, the sound of crying mothers was something we all knew too well. It wasn’t unusual to see a woman breaking down in the neighborhood . Their tears told the same heartbreaking story—sons and daughters trapped in Libya by the Magafe traffickers, beaten and starved while ransom demands drained their families. These mothers begged, borrowed, and sold everything they owned, desperate to save their children. As a child, I remember feeling terrified whenever I overheard these stories. The thought of someone being tortured, held in a dark room, and forced to cry for help to their parents haunted me. Now, two decades later, nothing has changed. If anything, it has gotten worse. Back then, the Magafe made their money by exploiting those traveling through Libya to Europe. But as the conflicts in Sudan and Libya escalated, and the stories of horror spread, many Somali...
