Kenya Secondary Schools Association raise their concerns on the delay of schools reopening

NAIROBI, KENYA, AUGUST 14 -Kenya Secondary  schools Association now  say that the delay of schools reopening will affect students in terms of exam preparations and the transition to the Competency Based Curriculum. [CBC]

Addressing the media today, Chairman of the Kenya Secondary Schools Association [KSSHA] Indimuli Kahi  said that the delay has left the students stranded.

‘’ the closure really affects that final preparation of the students, knowing very well that we are also in the period of transiting from the current 8-4-4 to the CBC where we have the first group of students, the first cohorts joining grade 7 in January 2023, so any further delay will mean we may not be able to get the students ready for the exams and end up delaying the transition,’’ Kahi stated.

He added that many parents may not have received the announcement about the latest postponement of school reopening.

Indimuli  hence urged the school principals to be available in their respective schools on Monday 15 August so as to inform those students who will arrive.

He further called for tranquility as the Country awaits the presidential results to fasten the voting verification process.
