Sakaja praises the work done by NMS but says its time is over
NAIROBI, KENYA, AUGUST 14- Nairobi governor elect Johnson Sakaja acknowledges the work done by the Nairobi Metropolitan Services during its tenure in the administration of the city county.
Speaking after receiving his certificate, Sakaja said that all the county functions will be reverted back to the governor’s office.
‘’ I want to thank the outgoing NMS led by general Mbadi, I thank them for the work they have done for this city, and I have learnt from them, but I want to affirm that, from the day we are sworn in , all functions of county governments under tNAIROBI, KENYA, AUGUST 14- Nairobi governor elect Johnson Sakaja acknowledges the work done by the Nairobi Metropolitan Services during its tenure in the administration of the city county.
Speaking after receiving his certificate, Sakaja said that all the county functions will be reverted back to the governor’s office.
‘’ I want to thank the outgoing NMS led by general Mbadi, I thank them for the work they have done for this city, and I have learnt from them, but I want to affirm that, from the day we are sworn in , all functions of county governments under the fourths schedule, all the 14 functions shall revert to the county government immediately.’’ He stated.
Sakaja added that the people of Nairobi will have a new city under his leadership that is different from the administrations who were there before him,
‘’ To the people of Nairobi, I will not let you down and you can look forward to a new Nairobi, a city of order, a city of dignity, a city of hope and opportunity for all, ultimately we will make this city what it deserves to be’’ he affirmed.
He further reiterated the struggles he made to be on the ballot paper saying that many people did not want him to continue with his gubernatorial bid but managed to seal the victory despite all the attempts to stop him.
‘’ many did not want me to be on the ballot, leave alone the ballot, the last 5 days have been sleepless nights, because of many things, but we will look forward as leaders.’’ He added
